Black Squirrel Triathlon

Think you have what it takes? Come join us and find out by registering for the Black Squirrel Triathlon! The race is open to ages 18 & older, both individuals and teams! Proceeds will benefit Council Bluffs, Parks, Recreation and Public Property, Council Bluffs YMCA, and Iowa Department of Natural Resources-Lake Manawa.

Swimmers take to the water at Lake Manawa for the first leg (750 yd swim) of the Black Squirrel Triathlon. Bikers will start at Lake Manawa State Park Beach and bike around the lake 2 times for a total of 13 miles. The Black Squirrel Triathlon will conclude with a 3.1-mile run on City trails (1.55 out and 1.55 back to the finish line).

Omaha Kids Triathlon

Our kids triathlon gives youngsters a great opportunity to compete in one of the fastest growing sports in the United States. This event is designed for any youth, ages 6-14, regardless of athletic ability or prior triathlon experience. The courses and distances were created to be achievable for all participants. At the Omaha Kids Triathlon, participants compete in age-appropriate distances with an emphasis on fitness, fun and safety.* We want all our young triathletes to walk away from the event with a sense of pride in knowing that they completed a triathlon.

*Children may wear swimming aids such as life jackets for the swim course

Age Group Distances:

Kids 6 to 8: Swim 150 Meters, Bike 5 km (3.1 Miles) one loop, Run 2.28 km (1.42 Mile)

Kids 9 to 10: Swim 150 Meters, Bike 5 km (3.1 Miles) one loop, Run 2.28 km (1.42 Mile)

Kids 11 to 12: Swim 300 Meters, Bike 10 km (6.2 Miles) two loops, Run 2.28 km (1.42 Mile)

Kids 13 to 14: Swim 300 Meters, Bike 10 km (6.2 Miles) two loops, Run 2.28 km (1.42 Mile)

Tri It In The Dirt

Join Angry Cow Adventures for the Tri It In The Dirt Triathlon. The Triathlon is structured like a standard tri - swim, bike, run, but we are calling it an "old-school tri" and there are no wet suits!

Details:

  • 500 meter swim, 12 mile bike, and a 3 mile run
  • The running and biking will be on a 3-mile single track loop
  • Courses will be on the trails and beach area
  • Helmets are required and mountain bike is encouraged for the trails.
  • You can race solo or as a three-person team.

The fee to register is $45.00 each and it includes a shirt, food, and prizes. Registration closes June 22nd.

Omaha Triathlon featuring Olympic and Sprint, Individual, Olympic Team Relay, Duathlon Individual, Aqua Bike (Swim and Bike only). Olympic Relay Team can consist of either 2 or 3 teammates.

Sunday, July 8

Mixed Team Relay Triathlon

Form a relay team of two females and two males only. Each participant races one-at-a-time comprising of very short race distance of swimming, biking and running.

These events are sanctioned by USA Triathlon (USAT).  All USAT-sanctioned races require you to have a current USAT membership. If you don’t have an annual USAT membership, (only $50 per year), you can purchase a single day USAT pass for $15. Both may be purchased during online registration.

2018 Papillion Mayor's Triathlon

The Annual Mayor's Triathlon will begin in the west parking lot of Walnut Creek Lake and Recreation area and finish nearby on the walking trail.

The 14th Annual Mayors Triathlon will begin at 7:30 am for all ages and teams.  There will be a pre-race meeting at 7:15 am at the starting line.  Start and finish will be in the west parking lot of Walnut Creek Lake and Recreation Area near the boat ramp.

The Triathlon begins with a 500-meter open water staggered swim in Walnut Creek Lake. The second leg of the race is a TBA-mile bike ride on parts of the hard surface trail and scenic highways around Walnut Creek and Papillion-La Vista South High School. Lastly, a 3-mile run on the trail in Walnut Creek completes the Triathlon. A new bike course will be featured in 2018.

Omaha Women's Triathlon, Duathlon & 5k Run

The Omaha Women’s Triathlon aspires to bring women together as a community by offering a supportive, energetic and empowering environment for females pursuing a healthy and active lifestyle. This special event is designed especially for women of all athletic ability — whether new to multisport or an experienced athlete.

This event is held at Lawrence Youngman Lake, near 192nd and Dodge. This Sprint Distance “Women’s Only” Triathlon event consists of a 750m swim, a 20km bike, and a 5K run. Thousands of spectators will come to cheer on the women of Omaha. Don’t miss out on the fun!

We also have a 5K run and Duathlon as part of the Women’s Triathlon.

SWIM – 750 M ( .5 MILE)
Out-and-back swim at Lawrence Youngman Lake.

BIKE – 20 KM (12.4 MILE)
This is an out-and-back course – 192nd to Honeysuckle Drive, to Skyline Dr to Center and back. This is a new route for 2017!

*This is the course for the Triathlon and Duathlon

RUN – 5 KM (3.1 MILE)
5K out-and-back course. North on 192nd St, East on Old Lincoln Highway, and back.

*This is the course for the Triathlon, Duathlon and 5K run.

TEAMS – Competing as a member of a relay team is a great introduction to the sport of triathlon. Teams may have either two or three athletes participate.

Each session is structured with a warm-up and cool-down, drills (single leg pedaling), cadence, hills, and speed work. It is aimed more at the Olympic and Half-Ironman distance athlete. The program is accommodating to newer athletes and those who want to dig deeper will be provided with that challenge.

Indoor Sprint Triathlon

Indoor Sprint Triathlon

This indoor triathlon will make you strive for a new fitness level and help you achieve new goals. It will consist of 10 minutes swimming, 30 minutes biking, and 20 minutes running.

Each competitor will be placed in heats of 10 people and assigned to a time to start. Individuals may request to be in the same heat as another participant. Volunteers will help everyone get to the right location on time and to record distances for each participant. 

The swimming segment will be first and there will be a 10-minute transition period to change to cycling. There will be a 10-minute transition period to the treadmills for the running segment.

Indoor Triathlon Components:
- All participants will receive an event shirt
- Age Divisions consist of Men’s and Women’s age 14-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59 and 60+
- Winners will be determined by the longest distance in the three events combined
- Prize will be given to each male/female winner in each age group
- Proceeds benefit the YMCA Annual Campaign-Strong Kids

3 mile course--run 1 mile--shoot rifle run 1 mile--shoot bow run 1 mile--shoot slingshot & throw tomahawk

6 mile course--same as 1 mile except run 2 miles each time

The range will be run by the Game & Parks

Any child 8 years and older may compete.

All equipment provided!!
