Spooks & Spokes Bike Scavenger Hunt Ride

We've had a lot of requests for a trail ride.... and well you know we don't just do the average ride, so let's go on a scavenger hunt!

Get your team of two ready for our first, scavenger hunt bike ride through the trails of Omaha.

Details:
Team Size: 2 People

Cost: $40 per team, includes event T-shirt... and maybe some surprises.

Time: 12:00 PM - Yes, we know it's a Husker Game Day and we will have the game on in the brewery (let's hope for an evening game).

How's this going to work: at 12:00 PM, teams will be given a number of questions, this could be like a test, a crossword puzzle, a fill in the blank... you'll find out at 12:01. You'll have to answer these questions to identify the locations you need to go to in Omaha to collect an item, perform a task, or share that you were there to collect points. To get to these locations you will need to ride the Omaha Trail system and possibly a few neighborhoods. There will be no riding on major streets like 72nd, 96th, Center, Pacific...etc. All teams will need to return to Pint 9 Brewery with the items they've collected from the various stops by 3:00PM. We will then see what top three teams have accumulated the highest number of points and declare our winners!

Post Event Fun: Pint 9 beers, The Dire Lion Food Truck, and hundreds of your bike friends for a post ride party.

Registration: Register early, as those who do may get a few more details about the event... before the event! T-shirt deadline is October 1st.

Robidoux Quick & Dirty

The 3rd run of the Robidoux Quick and Dirty will be held on May 19, 2018. This is a 75 mile gravel race held in Scotts Bluff County, Nebraska, and is run through the heart of the Wildcat Hills. You can race it and gather a cash prize, or you can take your time and make it an adventure ride. Either way, the route takes you through piney woods and high plains grasslands nestled in a bluff system left behind by a retreating sea 70 million years ago. Look for fossils and cows; this is open range country. You won’t be the first to test your mettle through these parts. You’ll be riding on the Oregon Trail for much of the route, retracing the very steps of the Western immigrants. The race is named after Antione Robidoux, who built a trading post during the 1840s, selling tack and grog to immigrants as they crossed over Robidoux Pass on the way to their demise or Oregon, which ever came first. In later years immigrants struggled over the more direct Mitchell Pass. You’ll be riding over both.

Tour of Dirt Roads

Pirate Cycling League’s Tour Of Dirt Roads

Each Spring, Pirate Cycling League has mapped out a course incorporating some of the less-traveled gravel and minimum maintenance roads (MMR’s) in the surrounding counties and set aside a day to celebrate them with our friends. This years event will TENTATIVELY take place on Saturday, May 6.

This year’s route will touch many of the same—really awesome—roads as last years’. Also like last year, we’ll depart from Taggart Park (the city park) in Palmyra. Otoe and Johnson Counties are where we’ll spend a great deal of the day; and they contain some real gems: dirt roads, burned out towns, old architecture, rolling hills, and more.

It’s not a race, it’s an adventure. And we’d love to have you join us – everyone is welcome. There’s no entry fee (which is one reason we offer an unconditional money-back guarantee that you’ll have a great time).

But you will want to come prepared with all the gear you need (it is springtime in Nebraska, after all) and some doubloons (or some currency) to use as barter for replenishment – and for post-ride (last year we confirmed  that grog DOES flow in the quiet hamlet of Palmyra).
