Get your hands dirty with Community Bike Project Omaha during their annual Build-A-Thon!
Join us for a night of buildin' and fixin' with/for Community Bike Project Omaha. They're in the midst of their annual Build-A-Thon in which they're trying to fix and donate as many bikes as possible to local non-profit organizations. Organizations that will get these bikes in the hands of families and individuals in need. We''ll try to crank out as many as we can, but our goal is 20.
The event/hang-time will be held at Ponderosa (Blackstone District), but we'll have folks from shops all over Omaha coming together for a great cause. Bikes and charity. 6-9p is the time. And yes, we will be working on bikes, but you do not need to do that yourself in order to partake in the fun. You don't even have to look at the bikes if you don't want to! Just you being here is support enough.
We'll have some beverages (keg o' beer likely), maaaaybe some food (not sure. anybody wanna donate?!), good tunes, and great folks. Recommended donation of $5 (or more! All proceeds go to CBPO) if you plan to drink a beverage or two. If you'd like to just hang around what is certain to be lots of bike shop geekery, that's fine too. So far we'll have folks from these Omaha shops:
The Bike Union / The Coffee Union
Ferguson's Bike Shop
Recycle Bike Shop
We're stoked to have these people on board, but we'd like to have more. If you work at a shop (or just like working on bikes!) and wanna come on down to hang, let me (Vince) know. Share and spread the word if you can! email@example.com
