Frozen Ididaride Fat Bike Race

Cycle Works and The Moose's Tooth Outdoor Co. present the Frozen Fat Bike Ididaride, a Fat Bike race that offers a great mid-winter challenge on a course set in Pioneers Park!

Fat Bike only? We realize we have brothers and sisters that may not ride fat bikes but want to come out and play with us, that’s okay, this event is for them as well! Race what you have.

This will be a 20k race that can be run as a solo or 2-3 person team. The categories will be Fat bike, at least a 3.8 inch or wider tire and Non-Fat which is everything else with two wheels and no motor/engine.

The fat bike class will have 3 divisions, ages 39 & under, 40-55, and 56 and older. The Non-Fat will have 3 divisions, 39 & under, 40-55, and 56 and older for both men and women.

Race Day Schedule:
Time: 7:30 am - Check in
8:30 am - Fatbike solo, team and race start
10:30 am - Non-Fat race start

Heated tents for check-in, pre/during/post race resting and relaxing

After the race there will be chili, hot chocolate, and coffee available as a part of your race entry!

Some things to think about -
Please keep in mind this race is in January, so be ready for winter riding conditions! Lincoln has an average high of 35 degrees in January and chilly 15 degree lows. Snow and/or rain may or may not be a factor. Before the race try to ride in similar conditions to get a feel for what to expect and what gear you will need.

Lake McConaughy Fat Biking

Lets try this once again to showcase what great fat biking there is in and around Lake McConaughy area. This time we will do a 2 day ride starting Saturday afternoon, riding from the Ash Hollow area east to a location yet to be determined. Sunday we will ride north into the sandhills for some of the greatest scenery Nebraska has to offer. There is always the option to ride the beachs in the evening with plans to sit around a campfire as long as mother nature cooperates. There will be posts to follow with pictures and information of each ride. Lodging is available at Vogl's Lodge and Lure which is also the starting location for the Sunday ride. They have houses for larger groups or smaller cabins that sleep 1-4 people.

There are a handful of places open around the lake for food and entertainment or the option to go into town and enjoy some great food in Ogallala.

Note:

Tubeless is reccommended or or some sort of sealant in tubes. Even thought this is an unorganized event with no affiliation to any business or person/s, helmets should be worn for your own safety.
